Manga Mania: Where to Buy Manga in Delhi?
Watching anime is great but reading manga is a bit more special. My manga journey started by reading them online on sites like MangaPlus which is good and all but I wanted to read physical copies of manga and so, I searched through the internet where can I buy manga in Delhi. I found a bunch of places, visited a couple of them, and in this article, I’m going to share with you the best stores in Delhi that sell manga.
Daryaganj Book Market
Every Sunday, a book market is held in Daryaganj where you can find all kinds of books from novels to study materials, and of course, manga volumes. You can buy books for as cheap as Rs. 50.
I recently visited the market and saw people selling mangas like Rent-A-Girlfriend, Spy x Family, Chainsaw Man, and even complete sets of Naruto & One Piece selling for Rs. 4000 – 5000. As a huge Naruto fan, I was also excited to see Itachi’s light novel.
I found a bunch of manga priced at Rs. 100 each but you can ask the shopkeeper for you a discount if you buy 5 or more volumes which was also the case for me, I bought 5 volumes of Chainsaw Man for Rs. 400 which is a big steal considering that just one volume of Chainsaw Man costs Rs. 400 – 600 on Amazon.
But, the manga are obviously pirated for them to be sold at such a low price. If you choose to purchase manga from the market, be sure to thoroughly check the inside of the manga volume for any ink spills or missing pages.
The nearest metro station to Daryaganj Book Market is Delhi Gate. Exit through Gate No. 3 and walk straight for about 200 m and you’ll find the book market on the left-hand side. The market opens only on Sunday at 9 AM and closes at 5 PM.
Midland Book Shop

Midland Book Shop was founded in 1978 and has been passed down in their family. It is possibly one of the best bookshops in Delhi, especially for manga lovers as they offer a great library of manga titles with a generous discount. You can also request some unavailable titles and they will procure them for you.
With a friendly staff and reasonable prices, Midland Book Shop is a must for all book lovers not just manga lovers. They also offer home delivery but I would recommend personally visiting the shop as it’s a much better experience.
The Japan Foundation

The Japan Foundation is not your average bookstore. This place is the ultimate heaven for otakus in Delhi. It is a cultural venue that was founded back in 1972 to improve the relationship between India and Japan through culture.
It offers possibly the biggest library in Delhi with a huge collection of manga, Light Novels, and even magazines from Japan like Shonen Jump. In their library, you can read manga for free and can even take them home by being part of their curriculum.
There are also Japanese language classes, art exhibits, and much more you can enjoy at the Japan Foundation.
Shelfebook Store
Shelfebook Store is located at Pacific Mall, opp. McDonald’s, NSP, Pitampura, Delhi – 110034. There are also other branches of the Shelfebook Store in Delhi, you can check out whichever one is closest to you.
The Shelfebook store is heaven for book lovers. The store has a wide selection of popular manga titles, like Blue Exorcist and Death Note. You can buy entire sets of manga as well. They offer 10% off on all books and 20% off if you buy their membership.
They held an amazing Manga festival recently where a huge range of manga titles was available for a good price.
Their membership is available for as little as Rs. 500 for three months. As a member, you can borrow an unlimited number of books, but, only one at a time, you can’t just take their whole store home after all. They also offer a cozy place for members to read in the store with complimentary coffee to enjoy.
Om Book Shop

A wide collection of manga titles of every genre are available at the Om Book Shop in Vasant Kunj with neatly stacked bookshelves. Books are available for all types of readers. You can get novels, memoirs, kids’ books, manga, and even stationary.
Om Book Shops has a number of branches such as the one in Vasant Kunj. There’s one in Dwarka and one in Saket as well. So, you can check if there’s a branch near you.
All of their stores offer great customer service, reasonable prices, and a great collection of books.

With beautiful decor, this small shop tucked away on the back side of DLF Avenue is one of the best bookstores in Delhi. Though the collection of Manga and Light novels is considerably smaller than other bookstores on this list, it offers a great collection of books with a helpful & cooperative staff who would help you find the book you want.
If you live close by, do check it out to see if it has the manga titles you want. A small coffee outlet is also present in the store, so you can grab your book, get your coffee, and start reading in the bookstore itself.
