Vampire Academy is a YA paranormal romance book series by Richelle Mead. The book follows Rose Hathaway, a half-human half-vampire dhampir, as she’s dedicated her life to protecting her best friend Lissa Dragomir, a mortal vampire.

Rose and Lissa get sent to St. Vladamir’s Academy, a school for vampires.

On Feb 7, 2014, a movie adaptation of the book was released. The movie was a financial flop, earning only $ 15.4 million against a $30 million budget.

On Sept 15, 2022, a TV series adaptation by Peacock will air, developed by Julie Plec, the producer of the highly popular TV shows Vampire Academy and The Originals.
